Cheese-Stuffed Burgers

As I mentioned, we ate cheese-stuffed burgers for our friend George’s birthday this past weekend.

They were delicious if I do say so myself!  And they’re really not that hard to make.

Here’s the recipe:

Cheese-Stuffed Burgers:

  • 2 lbs. raw ground beef
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup minced onion
  • 1 tsp. coriander
  • 1 tsp. montreal steak spice
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. paprika
  • 1/3 cup of flour
  • Small mozzarella cheese slices enough for 8 burgers

Mix together the beef, eggs, onion, spices and flour.  If the mixture still feels too soft, add a bit more flour.  Shape a small handful of beef into a patty and put the cheese slice on top.  Add a bit more beef on top and flatten it to cover the cheese.  The cheese should be hidden inside the burger.  Continue this until all of your burgers are made.  This recipe should make approximately 8 burgers, depending on how large you make the patties.  BBQ on medium heat for approximately 5 minutes on each side or until the beef is fully cooked through.  Serve on whole wheat buns and top with all kinds of delicious toppings!  Enjoy the oozing cheese that flows from each burger…
