Down in the Town
Over the last two weeks we’ve spent a bit of time in downtown Toronto. It’s just as lovely as we remember! Here are a few snapshots (courtesy of the iPod):
How neat is this street lamp?! It’s actually lit with real burning flames (like an oil lamp??):
This is a pretty neat car that actually grows plants out of it.
Ahhh…the subway. How we’ve missed thee. So convenient. So stinky. haha. In reality, it’s very nostalgic seeing as we did ride the subway quite a bit while we were dating.
The good ol’ C.N. Tower. It’s a familiar landmark that was gleaming brightly in the sunshine!
The waterfront is being revitalized, and our friends Joel and Lynn took us on a walk around it to see. It’s quite beautiful!
Then they took us to this fun little vegetarian restaurant called Fresh where we enjoyed some tasty rice bowls. I had “Beach”:
And Peter had “Jerusalem”:
Both were delicious! Oh, and who doesn’t love the ninja bread men cookie cutters???
It’s been great re-exploring downtown again after a few years away.

those cookie cutters would make Harley’s day! I’ll have to keep my eye out for those!
We thought they were pretty fun!!
Wow … a real flaming lamp … I love it :-)
It was very cool and unexpected!
I love Fresh!! So yummy!
I’d never heard of it, but we definitely enjoyed it!
I have those cookie cutters! *hah* They are so fun!
I need to get back to Toronto! It’s been years since I was there! I’d love to check out Fresh too. I’ve heard so much about it. :)
Toronto is still one of my favourite cities. Perhaps it is because there is so much nostalgia involved. :)
