Starting earlier in the summer I started up a healthy eating challenge with my friends the Mailman Family. They were amazing “guinea pigs” and are still going strong! I’m thrilled for them.
Then I had my friend Stacey begin my healthy eating plan for her, taking a new direction in her life. She too did incredibly and is continuing on her healthy eating journey.
It’s all about taking a step toward health! And for a lot of us that means ditching some of the foods we’re used to, and starting fresh…and I mean eating fresh! :)
Now here is my little disclaimer as a reminder: I am not a nutritionst. I’m not a doctor. I’m not a dietician. And I do NOT know everything about eating habits and all that jazz. But I DO know what I’ve read, and what I have personally experienced in my own life, and so I go off of that. But again, don’t take my advice as a medical doctor or anything…I’m just not that good! ;)
This challenge was taken up most recently by my pal Aubrey who lives south of the border! She’s my first American friend to take the challenge and I am SO incredibly proud of her. She lives a very busy life and is often on the run. Cooking for one, and being busy often leads to processed convenience foods. Aubrey was a big fan of fast food, microwaveable meals, and other such foods. In my challenge she had to give all that up and start cooking for herself from scratch. And not just that – but she had to give up her diet coke! In addition to making all her own food, she had to be active for 30 minutes each day.
You can see Aubrey’s progress here on her blog as she blogged about most of her journey through one week of eating healthy. It wasn’t always easy, but she did it! Keep encouraging her as she strives to figure out life with this new outlook on healthy eating.
If you, or someone you know, is interested in taking part in this challenge, I’d encourage you to leave me a comment or send me a message. I’d love to help you and your family eat healthier!
