Homemade Crackers
Homemade crackers are simple to make and require very few ingredients! You could probably make them right now! They’re so delicious and I love being able to know exactly what’s in my crackers. They’ve been excellent to have around to snack on, or to serve with a homemade cheese ball and grapes at a party! Here is the recipe:
Homemade Crackers:
- 3 cups of flour (I usually split this between 2 kinds. I’ve done whole wheat and white, and I’ve also done kamut and spelt. Both work well!)
- 1/2 tsp. sea salt
- 2 Tbsp. butter, melted
- 2/3 cup water or milk
- Extra sea salt for sprinkling
In a large bowl combine together the flours and salt. Then, add the butter and water/milk. Mix until dough sticks together and is easy to handle. You will need to knead the dough for a bit to get this to happen (5-10 mins. in my experience). Roll it out 1/8″ thick directly onto your cooking sheet (I use a cooking stone which works nicely). Then, slice into crackers using a pizza cutter. Lightly sprinkle with sea salt and press it into the dough. Place the crackers in the oven at 400F for 20-25 minutes until crispy. Keep an eye on them because they can go from crispy to burned really fast!!

These crackers look great. I am also trying to make more homemade items for my family and share them on my blog.
I was wondering if you preheat your pizza stone before cooking the crackers?
I’m definitely going to add you to my reader.
